I have always been passionate about science, medicine, and health, and believe that communication and education in these areas is essential in making knowledge and understanding accessible for all.
I am fascinated by new advances in research and created this blog in order to showcase some of these new discoveries, as well as to provide easily-understandable scientific and health-related information on a variety of topics.
Since September 2016 I have been travelling the world, making my way round South East Asia and Australia. During my time in Australia I have been working as a freelance medical writer with Qerac Healthcare Communications (www.qerac.com) to produce healthcare-related content on a variety of topics including liver health (The Liver Foundation of WA), mental health and women's health.
I graduated from the University of York with a BSc in Molecular Cell Biology in 2012 and in 2016 I completed my PhD studying the role of autophagy in Crohn's disease at the Biomedical Research Centre (BMRC) at the University of East Anglia (UEA).
